Snapshots from a happy life

How is it June already? How is it FRIDAY already? My mind is blown and I have no idea what's going on. Seriously. This week has really thrown me. Basically nothing about it has been normal or routine. That isn't a bad thing, but it's tough to feel like I'm living in reality when everything feels surreal. What's real life? If something feels like it's not real, then does that mean it isn't, or that I am just overanalyzing?

What I do know is this: I am so, so incredibly grateful for all of the things I experience in my life, and the people I interact with who help me push beyond my limited views of the world, perceived limitations on what is possible and assumptions about, ultimately, the very definitions of friendship, love and human interaction. The last two years have been an informal case study (aka, LIFE) on all of the above. I am still learning, but my eyes and my heart are so much more open now than they were, to the spectrum of life that exists out there.

Some of the lessons I've really started to internalize: life isn't just for other people, it's for me, too. And if you want to get anywhere or have real relationships with real people, you have to be emotionally genuine; if you want to tell someone you love them (in whatever way you love them) or why your friendship means so much, do it. Don't hold back. Never hold back. Stop feeling embarrassed about being honest. Most of all? Don't be afraid to be scared. Even though your friends are obviously people with whom you share a connection, that doesn't mean they are necessarily just like you, and that is what I have found the most valuable of all. I think it's good to be scared; to push past your comfort zone; to learn new ways of living and new ways of loving and accepting the people in your life.

Admittedly, I am always trying to push past the status quo in my life, and I think it's a great thing to spend your life constantly pushing yourself further and further to see where you take yourself. That might not be for everyone, and I acknowledge that. So make of it what you want...

...on that note, its Friday and life is insanely busy and here are photos:
